Damaged Table Top Finish

Hi,
I damaged my kitchen table's finish by placing a paper plate with hot food on it.
There is now a circular haze where the plate was placed on the table.
My wife's not too happy about it, to say the least.
I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me out with advice, thanks!

The white tee shirt and warm iron trick has worked for me on solid wood. Check first to see if your table top is veneer. Heat there could be a problem.
