Particle board finish repair

Hello, I am in need of help so my fiancé doesn’t kill me. In repairing a broken leg for a table, I used some gorilla glue to hold the leg extra tight. Buuuut the glue seeped through and got in the surface of the table. A friend suggested using nail polish remover to get the glue off. I did and it took the finish off. I’m at a loss for what to do next and I welcome any helpful suggestions! See pic for reference.

Well since the finish is now ruined, you would probably need to chemically strip the entire top, sand it, and refinish it. (Stain and poly or use several coats of a tinted poly,) And if its a veneer, you could easily sand right through the veneer. So even that may have its complications.

As a alternative you could dab on some stain, it may lessen the contrast but it will still look pretty bad. As XS states the finish was removed when the nail polish was applied!
