bugs on desk

I bought an old desk at a used store a few days ago with the intention of refinishing it. I put it out on my patio, and when I began examining it I noticed very, very small blond colored bugs on it. There was something glued to the top so is it possible they are eating the glue? Do you have any idea what they might be, and can I get rid of them?

Not being an entymologist I don't have a clue as to what those bugs could be, but:
Contact a local exterminator and tell him your problem. The solution I have in mind (he may have a better suggestion) is to 'tent' the furniture and use a broad spectrum bug-bomb to eliminate all the bugs, no matter what they might be.
