Floor Refinishing

Am refinishing Foyer Parquet Flooring. Have sanded all old finish down to bare wood. Plan on using Minwax stain and curious if there is any pre-staining sealing or anything I need to do. As for the protective finish is Polyurethane suggested or is there another product that would work better.

I doubt ny conditoining is needed. Most hardwoods accept stain fairly uniformly, without the blotchines that sometimes appears in softer woods.

Polyurethane is a good choice for durability.

I am currently painting both finished and unfinished furniture for our nursery. I'd like to put some sort of protective coat on the furniture when I'm finished. I'd like to use a clear satin coat that is safe. I have a few questions about this step: 1. What is the difference between polyurethane and polycrylic 2. How good are the polys you can spray on? This seems much more efficient than the liquid polys. 3. Are all polys safe to use in kid's rooms 4. Do all polys yellow? Any advice is much appreicated! :D CatherineRead More

Once old furniture is cleaned w/Napatha, how much drying time needed between the cleaning and applying the finish?
