Question Refinishing Cherry Bedroom Set

I have an Ethan Allen Cherry bedroom set which is about 18 yrs old. I am looking to re finish the tops of the dressers. They have marks from finger prints and perfume. It looks dull in some areas. The sides and fronts of them are in excellent condition. Is there anything I can use to get back the original shine and finish to the tops without stripping and re-finishing them?

Whether you can 'rescue' the pieces by a method I'll suggest will depend on how much damage the perfume spills have done. The vehicle for perume is alcohol - and alcohol will cut lacquer (the finish).

Get a can of Turtle Wax Polishing Compound and Scratch Remover (1 product). Apply according to the directions.

I've used this method hundreds of times (literally) to restore the sheen to 'worn' looking dining room tables an other furniture. It will even remove minor abrasion marks and scratches.

Thank You George, I will try that. I also have a Coffee table that has a dull finish that I will try the Turtle Wax on.
