What To Do ?????

Building a 18' x 24' detached garage. Planned on slab on grade.
Had back hoe start over the weekend, to remove topsoil, only to discover that the topsoil is approx. 3' deep. Now to remove all this topsoil I'm going to require dump truck, etc...... plus the added cost to my merger budget.
Do I really need to remove all this soil?
The house is 40 years old, so I think the soil has not been disturbed for that long. The site is fairly level.
Please Help

The option is yours but I would not consider a slab on grade even though it would be alot easier without foundation considerations.

Any chance you could dig a trench, 3 feet deep for your perimeter, add rebar and wire mesh to make a monolithic pour?

I realize that this would be more concrete but sure won't need all the soils removed and then fill it all back up with compacted fill.

Let us know what you're doing and good luck!
