what type of insulation ?
I plan on insulating this two car garage I just acquired, but not sure what is best type to use. Eventually, I will install a furnace to heat it in the cold months. right now, it has torn up fiberglass roll-type insulation (R-11) in it. I plan to leave up the pieces that arent torn up, (BTW, does it matter if the brown paper backing is torn off and just the fuzzy stuff is showing?). should I replace with same type, or go with bats? I want to do this as cheaply as possible, yet maintaine R-11 if possible. Menards has insulation on sale... 15" wide by 40' long roll for $8.99 each. Please advise as to best way to go with insulating. This will remain a garage. I may install drywall next summer, not sure yet. Thanks

pics?
Where can I find out what this R-13 bats and 2 mil poly look like on the net? Are they like foam panels? how thick and how long are they? It is 10'4 from floor to top of walls in the garage. It has very high walls. Will one bat do one stud? Is 2 mm poly some type of plastic or something? Does this go on AFTER the bats are in? Kinda like a plastic sheet covering the walls? Thanks

Any HD store can show you the insulation. Just ask for R13 It comes in rolls and you just cut it to what you need for how high the wall is. It doesnt matter if it takes two pc to fit inside the wall. Now the 2mil poly.Yes its a very light plastic.Get the clear not the black so you can see the studs to tack it on.It will come in a roll.Yes it goes on after the batts are up.No you dont want to use the foam here on this set up.Dont have any www for you to go to
