MY GARAGE DOOR TRACK IS ONLY 6 OR 7 INCHES FROM THE CEILING

id install a standard opener, but change the top fixtures of the door to quick turn brackets. this will lower your door about 2-3 inches when the top section goes over the radius, thus all the room you need.

GORLITZ,

You could install a low headroom kit to lower your horizontal track or consider this - Flush Ceiling Mount;

http://www.geniecompany.com/Products/excelerator.htm

There are other openers available, you may want to take a look at the web for alternatives. Some prefer other brands and as such the low headroom kit may be the best alternative in conjunction with other garage door manufacturers.

Hope this helps!

Lift the door so the top of the top section is at its highest point in its arc and stop it there. Measure the distance from the ceiling to the door, if that measurement is 2" or more your laughing, all you need for a standard operator.
