Unhappy Remote for Garage Door Opener

I have a Craftsman garage door opener that is about five years old. I have replaced the battery in one of the remotes and now it will not work. I think I need to re-set it or calibrate it somehow, but I cannot find my manual to see how it is done. Any help would be most appreciated. The remote has one large button that opens the door and two small buttons that I do not know if they are functional or they may be for resetting.
Thanks!

on the side of the openner, that's overhead in the garage, you should see an area where there's a little green button and i think there's also a green LCD light. If you do, hold the big button down on the transmitter, now the LCD light should be blinking. Press the green button, just for about half a second. The light should stop blinking and the openner is programed for that transmitter. And by the way, the other two buttons on the transmitter are to open doors too. Usually if your garage would have more doors or something like that.
