Hello, I'm building a new garage. The lower half is block since it's below grade but I would like to put up some type of interior paneling above that to the ceiling so that I could paint it white to brighten up the garage some. I am also looking for something to attach to the underside of the trusses for a finished ceiling. I do not want to use sheetrock so that I can attach things easily to the walls and I plan on putting hinges on a couple of the ceiling panels so that I can still access the storage area in my trusses. Any suggestions without spending a ton of money? I thought about some type of plastic paneling like what is used inside showers so that I could wash it down and it wouldn't have to be painted but I don't know where to buy anything like that. And I thought about wood beadboard but I don't know how much that stuff costs. Also I don't know about any legalities involved in using wood on the ceiling - it a detached garage that sits about 12' from my house. Any suggestions would be appreciated - what do you have in your garage???? Thanks!

My garage door opener opened the door this morning, but stopped working, and would not close the door. No sound or movement from the motor. I know it is getting the remote signal because the light will come on when you click the remote and you hear a click. I also tried the wall button with the same results. It is plugged in and has power. It is an Omega Matic II with a Pulsar remote system. Do these just die like that? Is it time to go to Home Depot???
