Is there a way to increase the
range on my transmitter or
reciever?
I used to be able to open the door
from the front of my home(the
garage is in the rear) and now I
have to be almost right on top of
the door.
I have replaced the batteries in
both remotes with alkaline high
quality batteries.
FYI the opener is a 2 year old
liftmaster.
please e-mail [email protected]

Thank you in advance.

Rob: On the motor for your garage door opener, you will see a small wire hanging down. Inspect this wire. This is your antenna for your remote. If it is loose at the base or has been damaged or broken this will cut down on your transmission. It should be about 12 to 18" long. These get damaged alot by the door opening. Just for your own knowledge, garage door openers are only good for about 3000 cycles. which is about 3 to 5 years. Some will last a little longer. Jack the Contractor
