Dear Jack, I received your reply concerning the tightness of my door but if this were the problem, why does the door open immediately after I reset the transmitter? If the door was too tight it still would not open. It appears to me that the problem is in the transmitter. Help!!

Ken, this is indeed an odd problem. A little more investigation is needed.

Does this only happen in the morning or also when you get home in the evening?

Whats the procedure for resetting the transmitter? Are you changing the unit in the car, the opener itself, or both?

Is this opener one that changes the code with every use?

Anyone else in the house to use the opener?

Do you have a keypad on the outside?

Ken:
Perhaps I mis-read your problem. I thought that you said in cold weather, your door would not open properly. This would be a resistance problem. But in fact after you reset your transmitter it opens, then this is not the problem. Hard to say what it is.
It does seem like it is cold related. Maybe static builds up in your transmitter or opener. try to get ahold of liftmaster and ask them. Good Luck
