Question

I have a problem with my garage door opener. It moves in 1 direction about a foot and then reverses. I changed the rpm sensor switch and that didn't work. I was advised to clean the lenses on the eyes and that didn't work. I was told to check the continuity (I may have bad sensors) how do you do that? Thanks
A reply from HOME INOVATIONS suggested blocking sensors to see what happens, I did that & the dr moves abot 6" & then reverses. The opener is 6+ yrs old - would it be cheaper to buy a new dr opener? TKS!

If your garage door opener is like mine from Sears (about 20 years old) it has a latch relay in it and the up and down contacts may need adjusting. Check it out it may cure your problem. Good luck
