heated garage?
#1
OK heres my question for all you construction Geniuses.
My new house has a 1 car unattached garage, that has electricity. Now my objective with the garage is to have heat in it. I'm going to fully insulate it. But I just don't know how I would go about heating it. Would I use a space heater or some other kind of portable heater? Any help would be appreciated

Hi:script
Several considerations need to be addressed here.
If your planning on being in the garage several hours per day, every day, you might consider either a natural gas unit<if nat gas is available> or a propane unit <if that's available.>
Either unit will do. However, consider into your plans the need to run a gas line to the garage.
Installing a gas unit, you will need to hire a licensed plummer to install the under ground gas line and also a heating agent to install the heating unit.
Both will have to follow the city code requirements. If costs are not a factor, this would be a good choice.
If your not planning on being in there daily, for long hours, don't want to spend the added bucks for installing a gas fired unit, a portable electric heater will do just fine, since the garage will be fully insulated.
Good Luck
