How do I wire for a line strickly for the computer and leave my phone line open?

Start by calling the phone company and ordering a second line (seperate number, seperate bill). Another alternative is to get a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). It's not available in all areas and you have to be very close to a switching station, but it's a great way to go. DSL lets you talk on the phone and be surfing the internet at the same time, plus it gives you a very fast connection for your computer. And there's no need to string additional line. Check with your local phone company.
