Thumbs up

I'm going to do this. The genie garage door opener is about 18 years old. Replacing it with a Sears Craftsman opener. Am I right in thinking that I can pretty much just replace the parts one-for-one with the new ones? In other words, can I take down the center piece above the garage door that holds the track onto the wall and replace it in that same spot with the new one? Then I just have to figure out the directions for putting the rest of the pieces together. Right?
Is there anything in particular I should watch out for where I may easily run into problems?

You are correct. The basic thing to check before you start, is to make sure your travel channel or rod or whatever you want to call it. Make sure the new one is the same height as the old one. It it is taller, you may have another problem, but we can deal with taht also. Good Luck
