Garage floor repair
#1
Our garage slab (40 years old) is cracked (probably due to a large adjacent tree which we are removing) and appears to have settled a bit such that when water gets in the garage, it heads towards a back corner.
We've been presented with three options to remedy this:
1) Jackhammer the slab out & repour the garage with a slight tilt towards the front. Due to when the house was built, there is likely no re-bar in the slab.
2) Have leveling compound (epoxy?) poured to cover cracks & bring at least to level
3) Pour a thin layer of concrete over existing slab with slope towards front.
Do any of these options make sense?
Thanks,
Dan.

Only option one is valid. You will not be happy with the other two. They will break down, and next year you will be asking again.
Your existing floor, was probably made with unwashed sand, thus making the concrete rotten, and this is causing your problems.
Good Luck
