Question

I am beginning the process of building a garage up in the north country woods. The foundation is complete. I would like to build it with an opening for a "standard" size double garage door so that I can shop around for garage doors after the garage is built. Please indicate what the standard rough and finish opening should be to allow the most flexibility in selection. (I plan to use an electric door opener)
Thank you

In a garage, your rough opening and the door opening and the finish opening are the same.
Make it 16' wide. That will give you a
x by 16 foot door. Lots of choices. Any other double car size are special order and will cost you more. Good Luck
