Roof trusses

I'm building 12' king roof trusses and need to know how thick the gussets have to be (3/8" or 1/2"),how wide and what kind of nailing pattern is required. Thanks

I have to ask. Why would anyone build a truss, when they can buy them cheaper then the materials cost. A 12 foot truss is only about $30.00. And a whole lot stronger then you can ever build them. On trusses you don't use wood gusset plates. You use metal gang nail gusset plates. You can purchase them at most lumber yards. Are you sure you are not building rafters, instead of trusses. You are asking rafter questions.
