I've lost my garage door opener to Doorman #455. I would like to get a new one. What is the process and who is the right person to call to address this problem?

You can purchase a genaric opener. Check the back of the unit in the garage for the numerical code. Set the same numbers on the new opener, and your in business.

Insulation for Garage: use rolls or blown insulation

I'm looking to add insulation to garage walls & maybe the ceiling (either rolls or blown insul). the large 2 car garage (27 yr old hse) is already sheetrocked & i can tell there is about 2 to 4 inches of space between the existing insul & sheetrock. 1. any opinions on blown insulation. 2. is it easy to do myself? 3. any other info would be appreciated. Details: i live in a 27 yr old hse that has a large 2 car garage. the bedrooms over the garage are about 4 degrees cooler than the rest of of the hse. i suspect the the garage (while sheetrocked) is not well insulated. i am looking to insulate the garage, either by adding rolls of insul or blowing in insulation Read More

Roofing a Garage "Kit"

I bought a garage kit. They gave me some plans that are terrible at best, and I want to do the roofing right. I live in Utah and we get lots of snow. They supplied 15 pound felt and a drip edge with the kit, but they gave me way too much. I wanted to know if I should apply 2 layers of 15 pound felt instead of 1? If I should, what is the procedure for doing 2 layers. (I am using roofing nails with the plastic gaskets on them). I also want to make sure that I prepare for Ice Dams correctly.
