Garage door won't stay all the way up(?)

What can i do to make my wooden garage door stay up? Comes down about 6" from the top of the garage. Thanks!

I understand your question is not about auto door opener, but if you go to Genie Company's web site, you will see that they are saying the door balance is the problem. If your door does not have an opener, it comes down because the springs need to be tightened. If you have side springs (one on each side) there is a nut on the end of a long rod. by tightening this bolt, you tighten the spring. If your spring is above the door on a long rod, do not try to tighten it because it is very dangerous. Call a garage door man and they will tighten it in a few minutes. charge is minimal. Good Luck
