Garage doors stops halfway when weather is cold

Donno what it is related to but the garage door opens and closes only halfway thru when the weather gets cold. My guess is that the screw which pulls the door needs some lubrication because the cold freezes the existing lubrication. The observation has been that the door seems ok in the afternoon and evening.Any Ideas.
BTW, its a Genie door opener

The wood frame of your opening is swelling from the cold. Tighten theforce screw on your opener till so it will torqe up more and push through the tight spot. Rub parafin wax, or similar on the wood where it binds to help it slide.

frantz 375 garage door opener

Clueless...What kind of general maintenance should I be doing on this chain drive door opener. It was making lots of new creaking noises this summer so I oiled the wheels, chain, etc. Now the door is moving real slow. There is a build up of black residue on the track. No doubt from my oil mixing with the metal rollers & track. Could that be the issue? What else should I be doing to maintain this door/opener? Thanks ps. Repaired gears

I have a Sear opener and I recently changed the plastic gears out. BUT now the door will only more back and forth about a foot. It will not OPEN. I have went so far as to take the limit switches off, but that has no affect. Could I have somehow damaged the circuit board? Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for your help. JLRead More
