Question

I have a Sear opener and I recently changed the plastic gears out. BUT now the door will only more back and forth about a foot. It will not OPEN. I have went so far as to take the limit switches off, but that has no affect. Could I have somehow damaged the circuit board? Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for your help.

Yes, probably your circuit board. Very common with Sears. yes, lots of problems like yours, and many others with this brand of openers. That is why I am so anti Sears and Genie. I never install them. If one of my customers want one, I tell them to get someone else to install it. I don't want to get called back when they don't work.
