Attaching opener to 10' wide garage door

Our new steel building has (3) 8' high x10' wide garage doors. They are insulated and have a vinyl inside. The problem is that the vertical supports are located at 0", 40", 80" and 120" with nothing in the very center. How do I support the center so I can attach the opener to it?
Thanks!

From what you have said, it sounds like you do not have any struts on your doors. They do not come with the doors, and have to be bought separate.

toddmason,

Your GDO dose not has to be centered to work. You could attach it close to one of the supports.
What I normally do is get a piece of perforated angle and run it vertically in the center of the top section. Attaching this piece angle to the top and bottom support of the top section. Then use a hole in the perforated steel to attach the L bracket of the GDO to.

PC If the GDO it for a normal door you will need a track extension for the 8 ft. door.
