Garage door off it's track

I have a garage door that is around 16 years old. I has been working fine until this afternoon. I was working in the garage and my daughter hit the button for the opener, as it came down it got caught on something in the track, but instead of going back up like it is suppose to it continued to try to go down. As a result the cable on one side looked like spaghetti. I unhooked the cable but now I can not get the door to close. It gets about hald way and then the door sticks on the good side. I know it is because that the sides are not going down evenly, but I do not know how to fix it. Any suggestions would be helpful.

My suggesstion would be to not to try to fix it yourself. This is very tricky even for Pro's. If it is not done just right, the whole door will fall off. Call a garage door man and they will get it back on in no time. Good Luck
