OSB rating help!!!

OK, I priced my garage a year ago when 4 ply CDX plywood was around $11 a sheet and OSB was arounf $9.

It's now about double.

I new baby stalled my project over the summer and it's costing me dearly in terms of sheating. I've been shopping around for OSB instead of ply to save some money. Afterall, it is a garage. The best lumber yard in our area has two grades of OSB, #1 and #2.

Anyone know the difference. My assumption, without called and asking a stupid question, is that one is non-load bearing (i.e. to sheat the exterior walls) and one is load bearing for the roof?

Any help would be awesome!

Your guess is wrong. The difference between #1 & #2 is in the gluing and in the thickness. You use 1/2" or 7/16" for your walls, and 5/8" for your roof.
Hope this helps. Good Luck
