Hello, I'm having a garage door problem and would appreciate some advice. Basically, my detached garage, where I store my junk, and the garage door had been working fine for the three years I've owned this place (condo, in San Diego, built 1991). However, a week ago, I tried to open it to clean it, and nothing happened - not even a sound of the screw trying to open it. The garage door opener still works on my attached garage. I tried to pull on the bottom door handle, but there's only a little give, and there's no way for a person to slide around it. Basically, I have no way to get in!! Help!!

Does anyone here know how to insulate a garage door? Al Carrell on "Your New House" says you just cut styrofoam to fit the sections in the door and snap them in. My neighbor has a metal door with insulation that was put in when it was manufactured. It's just loose styrofoam snapped into the sections and it looks like it's 2 inches thick. I've only seen 1/2 inch styrofoam in stores like HomeDepot. Wouldn't it have to be thicker than that and adhered to the door with some kind of adhesive?
