You have to take up on one spring. You dont say what kind of springs you have on it. If it is the coil kind over the door. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING THERE FOR sure.it can hurt you

Exclamation

here is a link that explains how to adjust your garage door springs(various types).. If you do not know EXACTLY what you are doing, please have a professional do the adjustment. Please do not mess with the torsion spring at the top. If these springs swarm on you or come loose they can cause serious injury or death. This link is to give you information on the side springs.

Good luck and post back letting us know you have all your body parts afterwards.

Link I enclosed should help then. We just don't want our members getting hurt with the torsion springs. Some things are better left to the pros and this is one of them. Good luck and let us know how you did.

By side mount .If you mean they run like with the rails up there. Put the door up ,block it there . Take and let a little out of the right spring's cable if thats what you have. take block out and try it Or you could take up a little on the left spring. LIKE WE HAVE SAID LOOK OUT HERE.
