Driveway question

Couldn't find a better place for this, if I missed it please let me know.

Our driveway is to low and turns to mud with a moderate rain, I'm planning on geting a couple dump loads of dirt and raising it about 6", I don't have the $$ to pave or get it professionally done. Any sites that will help me as far as drainage concerns (which is the problem right now) or suggestions? Didn't find much on google.

I can tell you from experience, no amount of dirt or clay will make your driveway solid enough when it's wet to last. You MIGHT get it to last by renting a compactor and using that, or possibly mixing a good quantity of concrete mix in with it.

If you have shale available in your area, that will also work. Once its leveled and settles from driving on it, its hard as a rock and doesn't wash out during heavy rain.
