Garage Addition

Well, I'm at it again. This weekend I broke ground on a attached two car garage addition to our house. The footers are dug (by hand) and the inspector is coming on Monday.

It's been almost three years since I've done anything major to our house. I'm so excited.

Man, I hope its either a small garage, or your frost line isn't very deep. Getting ready to start a detached garage here. 32x36, frost line is 30". No way those are getting dug by hand!

The garage is a small two car ( 18' x 20' ) and the bottom of our footings only have to be 12" below grade. about 8' of trench had to be dug about 30" deep due to soft soil, but at least the digging was easy. The rest of the trench was in soft rock/very hard dirt. I am now a highly skilled maddox operator and shovel driver.
