Garage Door Opener Question

I am currently shopping around for a garage door opener. I've found 2 that are the same price, but the drives are different. Genie 1/2 HP screw drive and a Crafstman 1/2 HP chain drive. I've heard that the screw drives are better and last longer. Is that true? Is Genie better than Craftsman or vice versa? Also, since I don't currently have a garage door opener installed, will I need to buy some type of installation kit as well?

Thanks!

Which Opener

Both are good openers. Both will give you good preformance. I prefer the Craftsman because of the name and also I like Chain drive units. All garage doors no matter which brand will only last so long. 5 to 7 years is good. Anything more is gravy. Good Luck
