First...buy a tape measure, and measure the size of your garage/room. It's the only way you will know.

Second... How do you know the size of your trusses (something pretty obscure), but don't know the size of your garage (something very easy) without our help?

Now that I'm done being an A-hole... Many modern home designs have a 16" overhang, and walls in most of the US tend be about 4 1/2" thick. Homes further north may have thicker walls, and overhangs of different sizes are common so it all depends... My guess is that your room is 247.0625" wide inside.

If you have 24' trusses...

then your garage is 24' from outside to outside. Roof trusses are measured by the size of the building, not including any overhangs. Example; a 24' roof truss with 2' overhangs at each end actually measures 28' long including the "tails".

Larry is correct. If you have 24' trusses, you will have a 24 ft. wide garage, outside to outside. You do not measure the tail overhang. They can be any length.
