Thumbs down Garage door track pulling away from wall

Help fellows...i am trying to help an old woamn fix her garage door..
seems when yer inside the garage,the left side of the upper portion of the track is seperating from the 2X4.....i don't know what to do...i want to release the pressure from the track,so i push the track foward so i can refasten the board with no pressure....problem is....the end of the track is supported by a celing support...is there adaptors? any advice a.s.a.p would be very much appreciated.....................dane

Depending on how much it has pulled away (an inch or two?) get a 3 or 4 inch lag screw and insert it through an empty mounting hole (if ther is one) and tighten it up. This should draw the track back to the jam. If that one is pulling out I would check the other side, It couldn't hurt to run 3 inch lags in on both sides

if the wood is split may need to replace.if the hole is messed up you may need to drill new hole in metal and put new bolt in.
