garage door brands

hey neighbors

im gonna replace my garage door.
lookin at a brand named 'haas', their platinum model.

any suggestions on garage door brands?
what features should be included that make for a durable door?

Not overly familiar with the Haas products - Saw some of their product at one of the IDA events, not bad looking.

Highly recommend you talk to your local overhead door companies. If there's not a local dealer - look elsewhere. Dealers do not include big box stores, those stores do not carry replacement parts and really do not know the products.

Also do check your local BBB to see who the reputable door companies in your area are.

adding an attached garage??

I want to add an attached garage on the side of the house. I had one, but I turned it into a playroom for the kids. I guess I should start with having the floor poured? Is 4" thick enough, or should I go deeper? Then Im lost from there! Any suggestions?? ThanksRead More

Another heating question

Hey guys, I've been on a mission to heat my garage for the past few months. I've looked at various options and for the longest time had settled on wood. After searching out it's requirements and what it will cost, I'd be better off going with a furnace (over $1000.00 for all materials, not including the cost of the stove). So, I've been looking at radiant heat and wanted to get some opinions. I understand that it takes a little longer to heat the space compared to forced air but the benefits of lower fuel consumption far out-way the instant heat factor for me. My garage is fully insulated and 20x20 with a standard 8ft ceiling. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these units. We do reach very cold temps here. I'd never expect it to heat the garage to +30 when the temps outside are -30 but I do need something that will take the chill out of the air making vehicle maintenance much more enjoyable.
