Door Rail Sticks

I have a 4 yr old liftmaster garage door opener. When I open the door first time of the day the door raises about 5 inches and goes back down. I do this 3 or 4 times and the door finally rolls up. Should I lubricate the rail since the rail guide sticks (I think)?

first pull the red rope to unhook the door from the opener and try it by hand, if the door works easily then you probably need to increase the "open force" it is a dial located on the circuit board. you can put a light coat of grease on the rail
