We are adding an addition on our 1100 sq foot rancher. We have a standard roof line. I am wondering the best way to do the new roof line to avoid leakage. I want to peel back all the shingles and re shingle the whole roof. My wife feels that is a bit excessive and there has to be an easier way!
My current roof line is north-south and gentle sloping.
The addition is basically the whole length of our current home and out 16 feet. We are putting in a family room, 1/2 bath and a porch.
Please Help!

Will the extension continue the slope in the same direction? There could be a need for flashing. What does the contractor or roofer say?
May I suggest a full bath? It much more convenient for you & it adds resale value.
