Exclamation

Hello,

I am having a NEW YEARS EVE PARTY in my 16 x 18 attached garage. The garage is drywalled and has a garage door. However it is freezing in Chicago and I just bought a electric radiator but it does not work that well.

I was thinking of ruffing in 4 vents...two on the bottom of the wall and two in the ceiling.

Some Concerns:

Will this be expensive?
Do I need to install a return?
Do I need a seperate thermostat?
Do I need to insulate on top of my garage?
How do I insulate the garage door without making it inaprpoable?
How do I make the air move fast through the 4 vents that I have just installed? is there some sort of electric motor I can hook up?

THANK YOU!!!!

Personally I would not do anything you have mentioned. I would go to a propane supplier, and rent a propane heater.
They are about 3 foot square. They are not too heavy, and hang from your ceiling. Hang from a corner, and also get a 100 lb tank. Have them hang it up and connect it up also.
That requires a license. That heater will cook you out in about 30 minutes. That will be alot less expensive then your plan. The heater will have a thermostat on it. Good Luck

Ive had bad experinces with propane in my garage in Chicago.
They need to be well vented. I tried this and almost passed out from the fumes.I recommened a ventalated heating system.

Any time you have a problem with propane, you have operator error. That is a fact.
