Can someone explain how to hardwire general/universal garagedoor open/close

I have a old opener and really dont have much money to buy a new one.
They can be "hardwired" to a remote opener/replacement like Skylink-318TR-Garage-Remote-Control on amazon or a Simple Key switch that u can put on your door frame like this one Prime Line GD 52142 Garage Door Electric Key Lock Switch at HardwareAndTools.com
So i don't know how they work. There is usually a control box on the side of the opener that has 3 wires that attach it to opener. Just a guess , Are these Power(some voltage) Light on/off relay and opener on/off relay?

or more specifically how would u connect a hardwire switch like that one that goes on the frame. (maybe i should buy it and read the instructions.)

The door frame switch is simple, run two wires from it up to the opener, there should be two terminals on the opener that the inside wall control connects to. wire it to those two terminals along with the inside wall control
