Possible - a one man installation of a new garage door ?

Is a one man garage door installation possible or even feasible ?
I'm trying to save on the high labor costs(5 hours at $60 per roughly).
The PO really botched up this Colpay (inexpensive, lightweight) door...one spring is missing, the cable and pulley on one side is off and there is a lot of door damage. Maybe its was mis-installed in the first place ???...
Is it possible to even open this door with the missing spring ?

Depends on the size and type of door. A helper realllyy speeds things up though...esp when it comes time to measure for square and get the tracks lined up.

You'd be surprised how much it would cost if you get someone that installs them to do a side job.

I helped a guy across the street back in VA put his 12' up (on Christmas Day no less) and after we had started, he told him a guy that he had talked to when another neighbor had his installed would have done it for $100!! On Christmas as well, since his wife had to work that day. Uhhh I probably would have jumped on that myself if I needed one.

As to the door you have now.....yes it's possible...but not with an opener...and it's dangerous to do it by hand. If it gets out of whack in the track you could injure yourself pretty good.

I've installed 3 garage doors, two of them by myself. The third door was my daughter's and she helped.

It is certainly doable and actually a pretty easy job to do it by yourself. As GunGuy posted it's quicker and easier with a helper.
Squaring up the tracks requires accurate measurements and doing that alone is time consuming. I used clamps to hold the tape measure.

You can visit the Clopay site and watch a door install video.

Thank you, gentlemen for the quick replies..
I could buy a new set of springs and pulleys from the local ACE and fix the door - but it is battered and beaten...
How ? Maybe the victim of the same man who could drive a nail straight ??
I use screws.....
