Leaning Garage Correction

Hi Everyone,

We moved in to our 1953 house two years ago and recently noticed the detached garage has a bit of a lean to it. It's only on one wall and although not noticeable by a casual observer, I measured about 1/2 inch lean per 24" length. The questions come in how (and if) it should be corrected.

It's an unfinished garage with exposed studs inside and looking for a "quick and dirty" stabilization as we likely won't be keeping this garage in the long-term. The two ends have been braced with 1X's originally that were notched on the outside. Since originally constructed, it appears someone added a doorway and compromised some of the bracing.

My options are attaching another 1X on the inside to stabilize, sheath with plywood, or something else altogether that maybe someone can enlighten me. The doorway is actually plumb and square, so my guess is it was already leaning and then the doorway was installed. Since the 2x4 studs were already notched on one side, I'm hesitant to try to notch on the inside.

Any ideas? I was thinking it was somewhat straight-forward and would get a come-along and cable system to straighten it while I added bracing, but the door is making me a bit nervous.

To orient you, the inside corner photo with the ladder is the corner with the downspout. These were shot somewhat wide (18mm - 24mm), so perspective may be exaggerated.

Thanks!

P.S. Please excuse the junk in the garage and the limp peonies that got hit by a nice rainstorm today.

No way is a come along going to be able to pull it unless you removed all the siding.
That had to be a DIY window install, completly wrong.

They made it that thick and never used anything to hold it up.
