Attaching timber framing to a wall

iv been woundering what the best way to do this is. im putting up timber framing on a wall with the bottom frame plate bolted to the wall (with thru bolts maby?) Then iv to put 6''x6'' beams on each corner with 4x2'' studs inbetween, but the cladding will be flush with the 6'' corner beams so there visible still if u get what i mean. whats a good way to go about fitting the 6x6'' will i need timber shoe holders or something like hurricane plates ? thanks
