using two different Genie remotes with one garage door opener
My question pertains to a rental property with a garage with a Genie garage door opener (gdo) that features Intellicode. The gdo came with two remotes. One went bad. I replaced it but a new one that is not the same model remote as the original; the original is no longer sold.
Upon purchasing the new remote, I got it to work with the gdo by using the Intellicode programming capability in the gdo. However, the tenant later informed me the other original remote would not work with the gdo after it was programmed to work with the new dgo.
Can two different remotes be used with one gdo? If so, do I need to go through the programming procedure with the original remote? Or, will that cause the original to work and the new one to not work?

I suspect that, when you programmed the new remote, you also erased all the existing codes in the openers memory. It should be a simple matter to program the tenants opener back into the opener.
