Garage door would not close

Hello everyone,
i have genie silentmax 1000 revolution series opener in my garage and it was working well and all of sudden it will not close. Force pressing the wall button will shut it down. I have spent a number of hours on the internet and going through the manual and it seems like it is a safe-t-beam issue.

i have GSTB-R model beams, with one green which is steady and the other red continuously flashing. I have checked every damn angle to confirm the beams are aligned correctly but it wouldn't just work. I have so far done the following

- tried to re position the beams by moving a bit of them but it just does not stabilize.
- I ended up removing the red blinking sensor of the wall and placed it next to the green beam it will still keep blinking and will not stop. i mean literally made them to kiss but it remains blinking.
- used windex to clear the lenses but no luck. still blinking.

i can force close the door by pressing the wall button but i have now run out of ideas what next to try. The manual suggests to check the limits but i do not want to mess with it unless i know this will fix it as the door when forced closes to the correct limit.

I see the replacement sensors are $38 which i am ready to throw but anybody has any ideas on what to try next?

Note: i recently washed the garage and after that the door has worked fine for a few days (may be 4/5 days after that).

Welcome to this forum. Do I understand correctly that the door has been working since you hosed out the garage? If that's the case, I would be checking the sensor wiring - at the sensors - if it happens again. May have had an intermittent or weak connection that the water spray cured - at least temporarily.

thanks goldstar, yes the door actually worked since i washed it. Anyhow i went ahead installed a new safe-t-beams and it seems to have fixed the issue. it works just fine.
