Wayne Dalton - Garage Door Remote

Hello everybody,

I just moved into the house and have noticed that the garage door opener for one of my two bays is not working with the remote control. I have tried resetting the garage remote, as well as programming it again. I have bought a universal garage remote as well, and tried that just in case that was the problem. Unfortunately this did not work.

I was wondering what is the next step in the trouble shooting algorithm? Thanks!

Does the door work if you press and HOLD the wall switch in? This is a way of bypassing the beam sensors. The door will not work if the beams are not functioning correctly.

Welcome to the forums.
I see your opener is the Quantum model. Are their any additional model numbers for it?

It is possible that the universal remote is not compatible. Do you have an instructional manual for resetting the code or are you trying what may have worked on another brand of door?

Hi, thanks so much for the welcome.

It is a Quantum model 3213. I have looked into the instruction manual, and have tried to resetting the code, and then reprogramming it, but no luck. I was told that the universal remote is supposed to work with any wayne dalton garage opener made after 1993. This one is from 2003 I believe.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Sounds like maybe the receiver board inside of the opener failed.

anyway to check if that's the issue? is that something that could easily be replaced, or does that need to be done by a professional?

Try swapping remotes to see if the functional remote can be programmed on the non functioning one and also try to program the dead remote on the functioning door opener. Also, open the remotes to see if there are dip switches inside and if the match those on the opener.

If you can, measure to see if you have 24 volts on terminals #2 and #3.
