Allister ARD-IIA Garage Opener Light stays on

I bought a house with an Allister ARD-IIA garage door opener. When I open the garage door, the light on the opener comes on and stays on. It never goes out.

I know this is an old system, but does anyone know what the issue might be?

There was a really old thread on this forum (2003) about the issue but no one posted a resolution.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It is probably a bad control board. Not the whole board but the section timing out the light. Problem is, you can't just get that section and may not even be able to find a complete board.

Your best bet may be to watch for sales in December and January and retire your old opener.

Garage door controllers won't work in the cold

For the past week, now that it has gotten colder outside, my garage door remotes won't work properly. In the mornings, my remote won't work, my wife's remote won't work, the button in her car programmed to open the garage door won't work, and the keypad on the outside of the garage won't work. The door opener mounted on the inside of the garage always works on the first press. When I come home for lunch and it's warmer outside, I'm able to get it to open with my remote although it sometimes takes a bunch of presses. Any ideas?

I have an Accessmaster model M100 garage door opener that is about 15 years old. Two of the remote controls have stopped working. One is continuing to work and the Home Link buttons on both cars continue to work. I have replaced that batteries in the remote controls and tried to relink them with the opener without success. Can you suggest a solution?
