I recently installed a sears garage door opener on my garage. Everything is working perfectly, except that the remote won't open it from the outside when the door is closed. The problem is that the door is metal, and it is deflecting the signal. Do you have a fix for this problem. I am really at a loss. Thanks for any solutions.

I have an insulated (read that double steel wall) door, and what I did is add an extended antenna to the opener. On the garage door opener (side away from door) I had a pigtail hanging down about 4 inches for the antenna. I used 16 guage wire and tied into it and ran it to the furthest corner of my garage across the top of the rafters.

Now the door will open when the opener is inside the car just over 100 feet away, shooting thru the windshield.

Hope this helps,
