Question New Garage Door Opener

We purchased a new garage door opener from a home improvement store and had them install it. Wondering if the wires on the sensors should look like this?

Is that the new sensor wire wrapped around the sensor then spliced into an existing wire??

OMG, this is why I do everything my self.

Got to understand big box stores contract with the cheapest installers, all too common!

I'd be on the phone in a second getting that mess fixed!

Yes, that is what I thought! I think they were in a hurry and I should call them. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being picky.

I'd agree..... very little craftsmanship shown there.
I hope everything else was done correctly.

I'm not defending what they did, but does it work? If so you might want to skip the unpleasantness of fighting with them. I don't see how the shabby workmanship will do any harm to the operation of the unit. But I agree with Doorman, what does the rest of the install look like. Especially the brackets holding the unit to the ceiling.

I would disagree with that, I would go back to the store, skip the installer, and demand that ANOTHER installer come out to fix.

Hopefully said big box store will purge this installer from their list and save the next guy from having to deal with same krap.

I agree, better take a close look at the rest of the install!
