Question Rotting Garage Door

Hello DIY,

My garage door is rotting along the bottom, I was wondering if there is anything I can do to repair this besides replacing the entire door?

I've looked at wood hardeners and wood fillers but the problem seems that this rot goes through to the other side.

If I remove the rot I have a long big hole, not sure how to really use wood filler if there's nothing to back onto, I've got a few pictures here:

Any advice or solutions are appreciated!

Thank you

Hard to tell what we are looking at. Are these double doors? If so, you probably need to remove the doors, use a skilsaw to make a perfectly straight cut across the doors and remove the rotten wood and replace it.

The wood can be replaced. Much will depend on your tools and skills. The flat panels are likely held into the wood frame pieces tongue and groove. I usually fix them by replacing the wood as best possible and reinforce it on the inside with steel or aluminum plates.

I agree, either replace the entire board or at least remove ALL the rotten wood and replace that portion [dutchman] Wood fillers don't work well if there is any rotten wood left.
