All remotes dead one day, all fine the next?

I have a 10 year old Chamberlain garage door openers. Aside from mysteriously reversing every now and then, it has worked well.

Yesterday three remotes didn't do anything at all. I tried changing batteries on the first one that failed, but it didn't help. The wired button worked normally.
Today all three worked fine.

There was nothing remarkable about the weather, or anything else.

Any ideas what was going on>

Did you have the lock out engaged on the inside remote, stops all controllers from activating the opener, happens here now and then when someone is trying to turn on the light but gets the wrong button!

I bet that's it! Though it is odd that we unknowingly turned it off the next day....

Thanks
