Garage door push button help.
What seemed easy is turning into a nightmare. Easy single button wall mount switch. Guy that owned the home before me ran the wires down the wall to a junction box. The only thing that will cover the box and hole in the wall is a wall plate. I had a small push button switch mounted in a wall plate. Switch broke and I am trying to replace. The skinny rectangular push button garage switches won't fit in a wall plate. Every other switch I got is on/off so it doesn't work rightrfor the garage door. Does anyone know of a switch or type of switch that will mount into a wall plate and work correctly with a garage door?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Get a blank plate and drill it for a standard pushbutton switch or if you need to use a standard toggle plate..... mount a doorbell button over the slot.

I'm not sure I'm not a Genie guy. Try touching the two wires together and see if the door moves, if so this one should work with it. https://www.amazon.com/Liftmaster-41.../dp/B000F5KF1O

Which model Genie garage door opener do you have? If it is a model that uses a series II wall console is larger than the push button style that you are describing. https://store.geniecompany.com/colle...ies-ii-product
